Bio
Abstract Artist, Nature Lover
I love working with textured paste, acrylics and paper. Textured paste, used with acrylics, in a number of ways, is my go to medium.
Organic patterns, inspired by nature are my home turf. Often with a nod to mid century modern design, as well as unstructured florals with a more contemporary feel.
Tone on tone colour, creating harmony and cohesion is my happy place. Yes, metallics sometimes feature but I try to control the urge to gold leaf everything.
Textured Art
Appreciating textured art is about valuing the beauty in imperfection, perfectly imperfect, organic and irregular. Textured art moves away from traditional art to a tactile experience. Inherent to the design are marks, bumps, lumps, scrapes and scourges. It is a thing of beauty, like nature herself. It’s not for everyone. But it is for me and I hope you love it too.
For those new to textured art the raised surfaces create interaction with light and shadow, with smooth and rough, while embraced within the fluidity of painted effect, and the added element of dimension.
There are a number of different textures at play in my work. I use three different pastes mixed in different ratios depending on the design I want to create. Sometimes the acrylic paint is mixed into the paste, other times it is added after. Sometimes there are embellishments and other materials used in the construction of a piece.
Sage Advice
During winter 2024 I have spent time working on the Sage Advice collection.
By mid September 2024 these works will be available. But until then a sneak peek ...

work practice
I work on several collections at once. This suits my neurodivergent brain. One week a month I devote to play aka experimentation. This means my style, techniques and skills are constantly evolving.

Commissions + Collaborations
Art is a personal experience. If my work resonates with you, but you would prefer something personalised, by way of size and colour, then yes, lets talk. Also open to collaborations too.
Materials
I tend to use acid free 380gsm triple primed cotton framed stretch canvas. I also work on plywood, glass and mirror.
I use quality acrylic paints. Embellishments may include metallic leaf, paper and clay. All works are varnished - matte / satin / gloss - depending on the design.
Each original work comes with a Story Card, sharing the creative behind the work, materials used and authenticating the piece.
I offer affordable pinewood shadow gap frames for most 40 x 50cm and 30.5cm x 30.5cm artworks. Frames screw in from the back so are easy to swap out or paint in a colour if the buyer wants to. Premium framing is available.
I seek to create relatable artwork that feels human, embraces organic form and connects with the human condition.
I want to impart emotion - joy, serenity, inclusion, movement and more.
I want to capture light, dark, shadow and depth.
Personally, I want to give off that glow of a life well lived. Boy mum, dog lover, wife to my one and only.
